When year-end celebrations meet a rite of passage, what sparks will fly? Last night, the campus of MIC (Majestic International College) transformed into a starry stage and a warm auditorium for the magnificent Coming-of-Age Ceremony & 2026 New Year Gala!
It was a night of youthful brilliance and a coronation of growth—let’s travel back through words and memories to that unforgettable evening woven with laughter and tears!
The gala kicked off with the fiery opening dance "Burning Up," instantly igniting the atmosphere with the energetic moves of the Dance Club. Fifteen diverse performances kept the excitement alive throughout the night:
From the stirring melodies of the instrumental ensemble "Viva La Vida" to the Eastern grace of the classical dance "A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains"; from the fantastical drama "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" to the passionate Latin dance "Carnival of Fire." East met West, artistry merged with rhythm, as students confidently displayed their global perspective and cultural depth on stage.
Songs like "Drifting North" and "Falling Leaves Return to Roots" echoed the sentiments of wanderers, while "As Wish" and "What the World Gave Me" conveyed warmth and strength through choral harmony. The solo "Drowning Sorrows" and the band performance "River South" earned thunderous applause.
As the finale, teachers, parents, and students joined voices in "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies," their singing carrying gratitude for the past and boundless hope for the future, drawing the performances to a perfect close.
Three rounds of raffle draws interspersed the evening, full of surprises, with the reveal of the "Principal's Special Prize" pushing the excitement to its peak.
The most touching part of the evening was undoubtedly the Coming-of-Age Ceremony for the students turning 18.
Accompanied by solemn yet warm music, parents personally placed the cap and sash on their children, adjusted their attire, shared deep embraces, and whispered words of advice. In the meeting of their eyes lay pride, reluctance, and infinite hope.
This moment was not a farewell, but a witness to eaglets strengthening their wings, ready to soar on their own.
Parent representative "Xutong's Dad" shared the moving story of his daughter’s academic and personal growth over three years at MIC, especially her resilience in persevering with studies and applications after a leg injury, and the meticulous care she received from teachers and classmates. His words echoed the feelings of all parents: "MIC is one big, loving family," firmly affirming the value of choosing a holistic education path.
This gala was a microcosm of MIC’s educational philosophy—where academics and character development go hand in hand, and growth walks alongside care. Whether shining with confidence on stage or demonstrating resilience in the face of setbacks, the students displayed the very essence of the "whole person" the school advocates: talented yet warm-hearted, dream-driven yet responsible.
